Administrative History
The Harold B. Lee Library (1973- ) is the library on the campus of Brigham Young University, and is responsible for providing students and the community with valuable resources for research, media projects, and personal use.
The Harold B. Lee Library was aligned with Media Services under the Assistant Academic Vice President of Brigham Young University in 1973. In that same year, the J. Reuben Clark, Jr., Library was renamed the Harold B. Lee Library. Internally, the Harold B. Lee Library is managed by the library director, who is aided by an associate university librarian and assistant university librarians, who oversee divisions of the library. Directors have included Donald K. Nelson (1973-1980), Sterling J. Albrecht (1980-2002), Randy J. Olsen (2002-2009), Julene Butler (2010-2012), Scott Duvall (interim, 2012-2013), Jennifer Paustenbaugh (2013-2019), Brian Rennick (interim, 2019-2020), and (Rick Anderson, 2020- ). The library building was expanded in 1976 and 2000, and continues to provide students and faculty access to scholarly materials.

Collection contains brochures designed for the Harold B. Lee Library University Archives in the 1980s. Included in the collection are brochures from the colleges at Brigham Young University and universities and institutes around the United States that were assembled as reference materials. These brochures show several different styles from the 1950s to the 1980s. Included among the material are the rough drafts and revisions of the Harold B. Lee Library University Archives brochures.
Ephraim Hatch photographs of the Harold B. Lee Library and the Provo City Library
Collection is comprised of three books of photographs of the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University the Provo City Library at Academy Square. Collection also includes 13 CDs containing the digital images used to produce the books.
Shannon L. Hoffman papers
Collection contains the professional papers of Shannon L. Hoffman, dating from 1989 to 2010. They document her activities as the authorities librarian at Brigham Young University and include information on committees, outsourcing, travel, and rank advancement.
Carla Kupitz photographs of the Cataloging Department
Collection contains photographs of the Harold B. Lee Library Cataloging Department. Photographs date from 1993.
Learning Resource Center annual reports
Contains collected annual reports for the Library Learning Resource Division, Educational Media Services, and Harold B. Lee Library from 1970-1990.
Learning Resource Center records
Contains fifteen filmstrips concerning the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Also contains meeting notes, reports, memoranda, tests, and manuals relating to the Learning Resource Center in the Harold B. Lee Library. Also referred to LEE LRC in the catalogue. Addendum includes auxiliary reports, memoranda, operating procedures, meeting minutes and budget reports.
LibQUAL report
Report containing the information gathered about the quality of services at the Harold B. Lee Library and the other CES consortium libraries. The report contains information from a survey conducted from Feb.-May 2004.
Library survey report
Committee report describing the current state of the library at Brigham Young University, and proposing plans for future expansion of the collections and physical facilities.
Multimedia Unit records
Contains the DVDs and CD data discs of film shot by the Harold B. Lee Library multimedia unit from February 2012 and April 2013. The DVDs hold the final edited shoot that are accessible with the menu, while the CD data discs have each film segment individually accessible. Footage focuses on the Harold B. Lee Library, Brigham Young University campus and student events and life.
